Meet Andi

Clinical Perspective and Experience
I am the founder of Forge Therapy, PLLC, a clinical social worker and psychotherapist, who works within an integrative/holistic, queer, neuro-affirming, sex positive, non-judgmental, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, and client-centered framework meeting clients where they are assisting them to explore, define, and achieve their goals to live the life they want to live.
I have worked with a diverse client population experiencing many unique expressions of humanity. I have education and therapeutic experience relevant to the queer experience, neurodiversity, trauma experiences, sex and sexuality, kink and BDSM, polyamory, and substance use. My social work career began in 2018 working with populations experiencing poverty and trauma. In 2021, I entered private practice offering telehealth services to Oklahoma residents, expanding to Oregon and North Dakota residents in 2022, Florida residents in 2023, and Minnesota residents in 2024.

I regularly engage in individual and community educational activities and events focused on clinical and cultural knowledge to increase my understanding of what it means to be human to better assist my clients on their therapeutic and life journeys.
Early Years
I had an ever-changing home in my youth. My father was an enlisted man in the Air Force. My mother was a stay-at-home mom until around age 7. She also completed a bachelor’s degree in computer science in the evenings through long-distance learning at the University of Maryland while working. Before retiring from the Air Force my father completed an associate’s degree while I was in high school.
I was born in Panama City, Florida on Tyndall Air Force Base. Over my father’s career in the Air Force, I lived in Florida, North Dakota, West Germany, and Upstate New York, before settling in Oklahoma where I graduated from high school and attended university. Having grown up in several locations, including a country on the front lines of the Cold War, I have a unique perspective due to many different cultural influences.
Prior to Social Work
Like many unidentified neurodiverse individuals, I struggled in my early adulthood to find success in life. After high school I attended university but was unable to successfully complete a degree program. After that experience I worked at a local casino in various positions including food service, cashier, vault, and surveillance. After working at the casino for nearly five years, I returned to my academic studies completing an associate and a bachelor’s degree. I struggled to find work after completing my degrees and briefly worked as a project manager at a technology company before returning to university to begin my social work education and career.
A New Adventure
During the winter of 2024, I started the process of preparing to move to Minnesota, a place I had never been before. My experiences of my youth made this unusual decision and move seem typical. In the summer of 2025, I left Oklahoma to start my adventure under the Northern Star in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
